It can be said that with the conference of Stockholm, the era of
the awareness of Sustainable Development has begun. Sustainable
Development, still little known in its tangible aspects, or in
its social ones, is substantially a school of thought that
overcomes the limits of Illuminist rationalism and of the
scientific and technological systems linked to this
philosophical doctrine. 1972 represents, therefore, the birth of
a new way of conceiving the world, of conducting politics; a new
way to understand the sense of common good in governing
countries.
In this page will be laid out the principal historical steps
which have led the world towards the third millennium.
Globalization and Sustainable Development represent today two
faces of the same medal. The Conference of Stockholm, 1972, the
Brundtland report, 1987, the Conference of Rio 1992,
Johannesburg 2002…
Here is the new historical projection.
